Allentown’s Cedar Creek Park
Cedar Creek Park is something of a hidden gem in the Allentown park system. Tucked away and west of the more popular Cedar Beach Park, it provides for a beautiful walking or biking experience that encompasses the tranquil Cedar Creek waterway.
The park is best described by its two main attractions. On the east end of the park, the expertly maintained Allentown Rose Gardens puts on a stunning display of beautifully crafted landscaping and floral arrangements, complete with rose covered arbors, fountains and gazebos. The Rose Gardens are parallel by two small stone-lined ponds, with a variety of walking paths for visitors to use.
The west end of the park is comprised of a paved walking path suitable for biking or walking. The path will take visitors around Cedar Creek and also over Cedar Creek via quaint wooden footbridges that allow for relaxing views of the peaceful creek. The park’s path is lined with various trees, which can include colorful dogwood and cherry blossoms during the spring months. Allentown does an amazing job of maintaining the park’s landscaping and also regularly planting new trees to keep things new and fresh.
The park is very ADA accessible with ramp options where stairs are placed. There are benches placed along the paths and there is always plenty of shade on those warm summer afternoons.
Cedar Creek Park is located along Parkway Boulevard between Ott St and Cedar Crest Boulevard in Allentown’s West End. Parking is available in a lot on the west end of the park or along the road towards the east end.
