Hunsicker’s Grove
Hunsicker’s Grove wasn’t on my photography radar this year. My plan was to focus on the more popular Lock Ridge Park nearby. However, while searching for directions to Lock Ridge Park on Google Maps, I came across Hunsicker’s Grove. The images posted by others caught my attention, and it seemed like a great spot for fall foliage photography. I can never resist an autumn water setting.
Getting to the park was straightforward. A large sign welcomes visitors at the entrance. The one-way road leads to a spacious parking area, with a separate exit road. From the parking lot, it’s a short walk to the park’s main feature—a medium-sized pond surrounded by forest. There’s also a small pier for fishing. While this spot is reportedly popular with anglers in warmer months, I was lucky to find it completely empty during my visit. It’s not that I dislike people, but they tend to get in my shots, and I prefer not to fly my drone around others since it can disrupt the peaceful atmosphere.
On this tour, I’ll be exploring three main areas: the pond-side view, the surrounding trail, and a bird’s-eye perspective from above. Enjoy this beautiful autumn tour!
