Schlichers Covered Bridge Fall Landscape

Schlicher's covered bridge on an Autumn afternoon. The hillsides of North Whitehall Township's Trexler Nature Preserve are alive with color on this final week of October. The red wooden covered bridge still stands out amongst the fall tones. Many visitors to the Lehigh Valley Zoo will cross this bridge on their way to the popular Lehigh Valley attraction year round.

This burr truss covered bridge is 108 feet long and was built in 1882. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the bridge was reconstructed in 2014 to make it longer and wider.
