Hunsicker’s Grove

Aerial Photography

Aerial photography is a newer passion of mine, though it can be nerve-wracking at times—especially when flying the drone over water with birds around, as some don’t appreciate the intrusion into their airspace. Hunsicker’s Grove had plenty of birds, as you’d expect. I worked quickly with the drone but managed to capture a few shots I was really happy with. Taking photos of lakes—or in this case, a pond—with a drone is an amazing experience when everything goes smoothly. Sharing new perspectives with my audience brings me so much joy. These over-water shots and top-down views offer glimpses that even regular park visitors don’t often get. The hundreds of floating orange leaves on the pond’s surface were a beautiful bonus and made for some great subject matter in a couple of the images.
